I’m Sasha - a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology (MEd) from SFU. My training and work have been set in Greater Vancouver, not just out of the privilege of being born here, but also out of a sense of commitment; I see a great amount of need from my diverse community members and I am drawn to support you.
I know first hand that it can get confusing and overwhelming, paralyzing and terrifying, to just be with yourself, in your own head; that’s why I’m called to help.
Trauma-informed, Narrative, and Emotion Focused Therapy are at the core of my services, because I believe that all behaviour comes from somewhere and it’s not ‘your fault’. And, I have seen that knowledge is power when it comes to our mental health; only until we can identify the ‘why’ behind our struggles, can we then move towards change.
As a part of my ongoing commitment to be the best helper I can be, I frequently see my own therapist. And, to best ensure that I am present with my clients in session, I regularly get into the gym or the water. At the very core, this work has been my passion since I was 14, and I feel that this energy translates to the space that I hold for my clients.
